Paper Flowers

I found this photo online and its hard to believe these flowers are made of paper. I will be trying to craft some flowers that will look like these to use in my own wedding. I will of course put pictures up of the ones I make. I am excited to see how they turn out!

Book of Thoughts

Some parents tape the pregnancy and say something each day or week that they would want their baby to hear in the future. I am more of a writer. In English class my senior year we used composition notebooks that we decorated to write in about topics we discussed in class. I completely stole that idea and decorated a notebook with girly baby things and write in it for my daughter, Riley, to read later. I paste pictures and write my thoughts, some poems, and even quotes I like about becoming and now, being a mother. I also have her father paste pictures and write in it. It will be something fun to give to her later for her to go through.

Finished Room

Since I currently live at home with my parents I have to share the room with my daughter, Riley. I wanted a girly look to the room, but I'm not a foo-foo kind of girl myself. I painted the room from a blue, to a pink (I believe it was called Sweet Baby Girl). My sheets and bedding are green and black, so I found those mulitcolored curtains that tied everything together nicely. The colorful cupcakes also helped tied the whole room together.

Cupcake Mobile

These cute paper cupcakes look like a ton of work, which they were.. BUT they are worth it. The only thing I needed was paper, my tool of choice- the hot glue gun, and I glued mulitcolored sequences to the top as "sprinkles". I found the cupcake pattern online. All you do is cut paper into strips and bend it around itself, put a dot of glue to hold it in place and it makes the fluffy look of the top of the cupcake. The bottom part is simply the paper folded like a fan and then glued to itself. Lastly, just glue the top part to the bottom and woo-la! you have a paper cupcake. I made a bunch of them of all kinds of sizes and colors and then tied them with ribbon to make a mobile.

Name Plate

This was quite an easy craft for my daughters name. I simply bought these wooden letters from Walmart and painted them an obnoxious pink, for more depth I painted the sides black. I then used a hot glue gun and glued a pretty, thick ribbon into the holes in the back of the letters to make a loop to hang them up. I used the Command Strip Hooks to hang each letter and glued a little bow I made from the ribbon to the Hooks. On top of the bow I glued a silver sequence just to add a little something. The nurserys theme is Cupcakes, so I found little cupcake stickers and stuck them to the R and E. I love the way this craft came out and I believe it looks super cute.
